Yes, there is Christmas in Pattaya. Maybe it's not like other parts of the world. We don't have the freezing weather and snow and ice. Well, we do have ice in our drinks at the beach. The weather is perfect. I asked my Thai girlfriend if she knew about Christmas. 95% of Thailand is Buddhist. My girlfriend told me she knew all about Christmas and could even sing Jingle Bells; at least that's what I heard her to say. When she talks she sounds like Mickey Mouse or the Chipmunks. She has a child’s voice. I love it. When I asked her to sing Jingle Bells it got lost in the interptation and came out single girls, single girls, single girls all the way. I asked her what she was saying. She said, you know, girls without farang. Single girls, single girls, single girls all the way. . . .I have no idea how she heard it as single girls rather than jingle Bells. I like her version. ha ha ha Merry Christmas everybody. I wonder what my girl friend thinks about New Year's Eve?

Thailand is affected by the so-called tropical monsoon climate, which is classified as Humid Tropical or Tropical Rainforest. It has 3 seasons: the rainy season--from May to October, the cool season--from November to February, and the hot season-from March to May. The temperature is usually high throughout the year. During the hot season, the temperature at mid-day may rise as high over 35 degree Celsius (95 degree Fahrenheit). During the cool season, which is generally a cool, dry period, the temperature is lower but rarely falls below 20 degree Celsius (68 degree Fahrenheit). The lowest temperature ever recorded in Thailand is 0.01 degree Celsius--at Loei Province in the northeastern region on the night of January 13, 1955.
In most parts of the country the rainy season lasts for 6 months. However, in the south it usually lasts 8-9 months. The heaviest rainfall occurs in the southern and eastern parts of the country where an average annual rainfall exceeds 170 inches. In Bangkok, rainfall averages about 60 inches (1,540 millimeters).
Don’t get the wrong idea when they say monsoon. It's more like scattered showers and they only last an hour. Also, take into consideration the altitude you will be visiting. Even on the hottest days the evenings are usually pleasant.

Bali Hai marina is 97% finished and it is beautiful. Take a strool out on the pier. Bring your fishing gear there is plenty of room and the fish are biting because the Pattaya bay has been cleaned up of the last 2 or 3 years by the city. The dophins and other fish are returning. You can see them jumping right next to the beach. It's great to see things getting better. it is everyones responcibility to not only don't pollute' but pick up after the kids. If people see someone picking up a few pieces of trash, they give them respect and they then will also try to not throw trash everywhere. Give a Hoot, Don't Pollute
Yes, they do celebrate Christmas in Thailand, even if 95% of the people are buddists. The Thai people love to party and Christmas and New years are a great excuse. Christmas Dinner is be celebrated at all restaurants in Pattaya but some are going all out and have a reputation of going over the top. The best of the best is the The Penthouse Hotel. Make reservations early and Merry Christmas and we hope we have a Happy New year.
