Pattaya Casino
The Prime Minister, Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, said he did not want the Thai people to become addicted to more gambling. The Prime Minister said that gambling was a source of social ills. He said the city of Pattaya should promote tourism. He noted that some Thai people regularly go across the boarder to gamble and lose their money. He noted that in developed countries, a casino was a part of a larger entertainment complex where an entire family could go to eat and drink or watch a show together and maybe gamble at little.
