The Pattaya Open Celebrates
its 20th Anniversary.

The Feb 6-13 WTA event at the Dusit Thani hotel features a quartet of attractive players _ world No.2 and defending champion Vera Zvonareva of Russia, 2008 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic of Serbia, Russia's Maria Kirilenko and Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova.

Top seed Zvonareva is looking forward to completing a hat-trick of wins in Pattaya after her victories in 2009 and 2010.

She had her best-ever season in 2010, reaching the final of Wimbledon and the US Open and the semi-finals of the year-end WTA Championships.

She could face stiff opposition from former world No. 1 Ivanovic who has been in a good run with wins in Linz and Bali at the end of the 2010 season.

Kirilenko has climbed up to the top 20 in the world thanks to her good form at the end of last year when she reached the final in Moscow and the semi-finals in New Haven.

Last year, Hantuchova was a finalist in Monterrey and a semi-finalist in San Diego. She has won all four Grand Slam titles in the mixed doubles.

Thailand's Tamarine Tanasugarn was runner-up in Pattaya last year and winner in Osaka in October.

She returned to the top 100 in the world last year and will be aiming to win the Pattaya Open.

Suwat Liptapanlop, president of the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand (LTAT), said the tournament will be part of the celebrations of His Majesty the King's 84th birthday.

Tickets starting from 300 baht are available at Thai Ticket Major outlets.
